A striking example of early 20th-century metalwork, this antique Edwardian table frame features a magnificent crossover design blending classical Neo-Rococo symmetry with the fluid energy of the Art Nouveau movement. Cast in heavy iron with a rich, beautifully patinated dark finish, it makes an exquisite standalone sculptural statement or a highly detailed focal point on a mantle. Can be used as a mirror or picture frame.
The intricately pierced frame displays two classical female maidens symbolising the harvest bounty, flanked by sweeping floral scrollwork and supported by a dramatic base of stylised, winged griffins.
The reverse side is deeply cast with the official British design registry mark Rd No 527990, dating its original production files to 1908.
