An original oil painting by Australian artist Evelyn M. Baxter (1926–1979) titled “Sir Henry Segreaves Roses”.

A beautifully composed floral still life, this work reflects Baxter’s recognised practice of painting flowers in oil with sensitivity to colour, texture and natural form. Presented in an elaborate timber frame with a gilded white underwash finish, the painting has a refined decorative presence.

Born in Victoria, Baxter studied under renowned artist Septimus Power in Melbourne and became known for her accomplished floral paintings in oil.
