Born at Utopia, Central Australia, Gloria Tamerre Petyarre was an Anmatyerre artist whose work became internationally recognised for her distinctive depictions of Country, movement and natural phenomena. “Leaves in the Woods” reflects Petyarre’s deep connection to the natural environment and her ability to translate elements of Country into rhythmic, layered abstract compositions.
